Question on Recording using Mixer

Hi, i'll be using a Mackie 1202 with the Master outs on it.

However, I was wondering how I can record my tracks (usually 8~9 trks) seperately at once? I mean can i record the 8 tracks at once so they'll be lying seperately on my sequencing program on seperate tracks?
I know my question's kind of mixed up, but please help me out guys!!

depends on what kind of setup you have...if you have say a soundcard with 8 inputs on it, theoretically you can record 8 tracks simultaniously depending on your computer and software. To do this you just have to set up your channels in your sequencing program to record each seperate track.

Mackie 1202 is a live mixer so it doesn`t have direct outs for an recorder. If you want to use it you use the inserts but it want run the signal through your faders or eq. The only alternatives are to record track by track on the 1202 using the left and right pan if you have aux or submix outs or get a soundcard with 8 inputs. Trade that bad boy in and pick up a 1606 or 1642 Pro VLZ used if you want a hardware mixer.
