The new " Scratch Magazine"

Remix is coo sometimes, they do alot of other genres somtimes but its a real interesting magazine.

where are some of those engineering mags available at?

tower records has a really good mag section. maybe ill hit it after work.

when did that scratch mag drop?

scratch dropped last week i think, i heard the source is going to jump on the bandwagon too with their own, wax poetics is a good magazine if you d.i.t.c they always have articles with producers like premo, pete rock i just cant find it anywhere.

What's Tape Op about? I saw it on the stand, but thought it was some essoteric mag about old school tech and passed it up.

scratch MAG IS OK,i SEE WHERE THEY ARE TRYING TO TAKE IT BUT I THINK IT SHOULD BE JUST ABOUT PRODUCING NOT DJING TO DIFFRENT ART FORMS.

Scratch mag isnt that great. It just showcases some gear, but doesnt offer any in-depth reviews. It offers no tips or techniques, and all it really does is show you what gear certain producers use.

it's more for the crate diggers, but in the interviews you'll learn some of the production techniques of top producers in the game! it's hard to get the mag here in germany, only way is online buying.

Ddot, tape op is good engineering mag, it has a lot of interviews with
top engineers. The engineers are usually rock and roll, if that matters.
I don't think it does cuz if you can engineer a rock band, you can
do anything.

^^ that's knowledge. There's alot of music going on in a rock composition and for an engineer to have to help coordinate that mix of all these sounds and scources it makes him have to be on top of his game. From a recording perspective that is, not necesarily from a creative perspective.

good looks. i would say that my engineer does probably about 60 percent rock and 40% hip hop anyways so im used to that point of view.
