Is there any way to stop the zoning feature from always choppin everything in 2 16 equal parts ? da reason i ask is cuz i been sampling and tryin 2 chop a 1 bar loop and its choppin up like the snare in the middle. Is there any way 2 just extract the high hat , kick n snare from a loop ?

Well 1st of all you don't always have to just use Zone and Sclice, you can also highlight whatever you want and use "Section > New Sound" in the edit menu.
I use a combination of the 2.
But if you want to stick to Zone, remember you can go over to the Zone field and hit "Open Window" to change the number of zones. Then you fine tune the zones by adjusting the zone start and zone end field for each zone.

Basically just remember to set the zone start and zone ends to zero crossings, but remember to use your ears too, not just your eyes.

If your snare is getting cut in the middle there's a couple possibilities.

Is your break a perfect 1 bar loop to begin with? Try looping it from start to end and hold down a pad to hear if it loops right... If it does you should be able to use zone without much fine tuning. 4 zones will give you 1/4 notes, 8 zones will give you 1/8 notes, 16 zones will give you 1/16 notes.
If it still cuts off that snare in the middle, it is probably a very funky drum break, with a lot of syncopation, or swing to it, and the snare doesn't hit right on a beat...
So you could either fine tune the start and end of the zone, or...
you could cut the break into fewer slices, like try only cutting it in 4 zones...
this way you will have less freedom to rearange the break, but you will preserve that original funky feel it had... you will end up with a couple of sounds in each slice, like a snare followed by a hi hat, so you can still reprogram the break a little bit but not as much as if you cut it into individual hits...
