Help with a Sound Forge 9 issue ?

Hey guys,

Hope this is the correct forum, anyways.. need some help here Just got v.9 & am having an issue with "mixing" objects. If I copy object "a", then "mix" it into object "b", the tempo of object "a" is now faster I've rocked both versions 8 and 9 (free trial) previously and never once encountered this issue.

I'm kinda stuck here & can't even proceed with my project till I can get this figured out :sigh: If anyone can help a brother out I would appreciate that shit mucho . . thanks guys

the only time i had trouble with that was when one object was an mp3 and the other was a wav.. are the files the same format..

^ Yep, two .mp3s. Weird thing is, I am now finding that its only happening with certain tracks (mp3s).. like, I just opened a random mp3, mixed the effect (mp3) and it sounds normal

But when I go back to these other tracks I was working on I get the sped up result. They had been edited prior to this (with the free trial version), but I also just opened up another previously edited track & mixed in the effect and I got the desired result. . normal!

I thought that maybe because they were edited/saved with a previous/prior version maybe that would have something to do with it. .. although I've never had that problem in the past using different versions so I kinda didn't think so.

i'll say the same. this is the only thing i can think of if you say they are the same format. i've noticed myself sometimes, before i changed the settings, that when i copy parts of a track to its own track, that it would switch from 44.1 hz to 22,050 hz and it sounded really high pitched or sped up

^ Hey guys, thanks for the suggestion.. you were right Wasn't until I tried a paste that a warning popped up about the differing rates. They were only off slightly so after a quick adjustment all is well

I've found two ways to fix:

You can either right click on file -> Properties -> Format -> From here you can change the sample rate.

Or, you can go to Process (top tool bar) -> Resample -> From here you can resample the file to whichever rate you like.
