using the same sample twice??

Have you ever fell in "love" with a loop or a sample of a song that you would use it twice?? Cause i'm ready to do that with a 2-bar piano loop from Chopin!! Damn,it's dope as f*ck!!!! I used it 2 years ago (on a track that was made with my mpc2000xl) for somenone who wanted and he finally bought it,but i'm ready to drop it in my 4000 and start chopping!!! F*ck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely. Look at Dre, he used the same elements three years in a row for three different songs, the first one being "**** Please". I forget what the other ones were, one of em was with Busta Rhymes though, on the Wash soundtrack.

Yeah man, I do it all the time, go back to piano patches I've made etc. I don't do it if i've heard it too many times and it's starting to bore me, but other than that fck it, if it's still rockin then rock it.

for my last 2 beats i've sampled classical music- stuff that i thought would be hard to recognise- and when i played them to my nan (she was interested in what the MPC was), she named both of the samples!!

It's from The Pianist OST,i can't remeber track.I've just load it from my old zip disk.OK folks,i'm gonna do that again.I'll give it a 2nd try

for sure. I use the same bass tones in all my tracks, and only a few differant drum kits, i dont think you can tell. But as far as instruments go, just flip it differantly. IVe actually done this, and ended up using one part for the chorus, and one for the verse and made an even tighter track!!!

but, I definately think that it only works when you revisit the sample a minute later, because if not, you will want to chop it in a similar manner..ya know? since you know the sample well, maybe you could add another to compliment it? you know, challenge your self.

I think its satisfying if you can say, i used the same sample, but no one can tell.....that means your chopping good or creatively. plus youll only have to clear once. i think;)

i dont see nuttin wrong wit it. if u got another idea i doubt anyone would know its the same sample unless it sounds the same as the other beat. but two years ago? damn i find myself playin wit samples i used a few beats ago! go for it

yeah, sometimes, i just wanna sequence, so i just pop in a zip, and start getting old sounds i used. I usually switch the samples up (choppin, effects, filtering) so they dont sound the same but i like doin this from time to time. Cause once i start pulling out vinyl to sample, I spend alot of time listening to records and sampling all different ish, but sometimes i just wanna make a beat real quick

OK folks..i've just finished the main sequence..Sounds nice..nicer than the first time!! Thanks anyway,i was just a little bit prejudice using the same sample for a 2nd time.

one time i flipped a sample. The beat was pretty good. ANyways, i went to save it, and the power went out!!!!!! I lost that shit. Minutes later i got the power back on, then tried to recreate it. I sampled the same sounds, and everything.....needless to say i didnt remember what i did, so i ended up going with something differant. I used the same samples and made a better beat actullly!
