makin beats in hot weather

its hot hot hot....and in my studio at the top of the house all the heat rises making it even warmer...

how hot should it be before you should consider not makin beats, in order for your hardware not to fry

Look at your studio as being like a N.O.C. (network ops ctr). Everything in the room must stay cool to prevent overheating and any problems.

It's really no different when it comes to our personal studio setups. If you're breaking sweat, then it's too hot for your gear as well.

thats what i was thinking too...esp with vintage machines...over 20 yrs old....
and comp ops server room i ever been in is is actually quite cold....like a freezer....
will take my mpc downstairs and do some samnpling till this tropical weather goes....

I live on the third floor but I keep my balcony door open the whole day. It's really impossible to climb all the way up there. I only do beats early in the mourning or after 10.00pm.

Get an MPC 500 and a martini... then you can make tech step where you like.

I have a large AC literally behind my setup lolol...so in my case PHUCK the heat. There is no way I am making beats when I'm too hot (or cold)

I feel your pain gertie. My garage is 90+ in the summer. (Feels like walking in soup!) But the only advantage is that is makes me work faster. As soon as I break a sweat, my ass is back in some A/C!!! I take that time to re-chop, make kits or just let my ears rest from mixing.

Yeah, thats exactly what I do, make them morning beats or late at night.

Its 90 degrees in PR everyday and during the day the house gets like an oven. My little studio is on the ground floor so its cool, but if I work there during the day, I will sweat. But if I sweat from the forehead I would continue to bang out. If I start getting clamy and sweating out my arms and hands that I have to get buck-naked, then I shut everything off til a cooler time.

But my best tunes are made during those hot and bothered sessions

here in MTL we've had a week at around 44 degrees C with the humidity. that's about 110 fehrenheit. it is impossible to do anything other than sweat and **** about the heat.

That is why the pioneers started in the basements!


Put a air conditioner up there or make beats a seasonal thing.

Heat isn't good for you or your gear. 90 outside = 100 inside.
