Drum programming?

Did a search and came up with too much fluff. I remember a while back someone has posted a link with a decent article on programming (not really for the MP but more for piano roll/midi editor).

I'm asking because all my drums are sounding the same and I want to get a live feel (yeah, yeah, change the velocity, heard it before) and just get my programming closer to what actual drummers do.

i'm thinking live loops if you're into recreating live performance, if thats what you mean. Yeh it aint all about velocity i've found but it does help. Also one very obvious and major component: SAMPLES. Dope ones make dope trax
