Tone generators and multitimbrality?

Okay, first I want to know exactly what multitimbrality means? I think it has something to do with the amount of notes that can be played simultaneously. I could be wrong though.

Next, have any of you guys ever used tone generators like the Yamaha MU128? If so, how are the sounds on these joints (as in, how do they hold up to like the Motifs and the Fantoms)?

Multi timbral is the amount of sounds or patches that one instrument can play. Polyphony is the amount of voices that an instrument can play at one time. So a 16 part multi timbral, 64 voice polyphonic board can play up to 16 different patches at once with a maximum of 64 voices sounding at one time.

Thanks mehn. So, in regards to the multitimbrality, I can record a sequence with 16 different patches (fuzz guitar, funk guitar, slap bass, strings, etc..) without cutting out, right?
