mapping MPD pad bank buttons?

is it possible to map the MPD's "pad bank" A-D buttons to work with some software (in this case, MOTU BPM)? i think those buttons on the MPD dont send any midi information, so it may not be possible. if thats the case, then what purpose do those buttons have and what situations woudl you use them? seems kinda pointless to me if i cant use them to switch between the padbanks in my software!

Well I dont think so. I dont know about the mpd series really because I have an mpd16 only...

basically the way it works is there are in this case 2 banks which equals 32 keys/pads/midi notes.

You dont need to map the button on most software and hardware in my experience because you go to the pad of your choice (1-32) and you go into the mode of changing the note number (in the case of the mpd16 you hold "active" for a couple of seconds) and hold the chosen pad down while rapidly pushing "full level" to go up or "16 levels" to go down... you stop when you hear the appropriate sound.

I hope that helps... anyways I am not sure in bpm but my guess is that each pad should have it's own note number just like every other piece of kit I have tried the mpd on.
