sheet!!..meant to post this in MPC Studio environments.
This is for anyone using the ASR-10...not specifically with the MPC 4000 I guess. Question: Do you use the program change MIDI commands to load files on your ASR? I tried using it and it seems as though you would need to set up a whole separate sequence on the MPC that would play all the Program change info to the ASR. You can't insert this info in the beginning of the loop because the ASR will reload the instrument every time it loops. The other funky thing I think you have to be careful of is inserting the change information to quickly. If the ASR is physically loading a file and you are sending it commands to change directory, then it will not respond. So if you want to load up 8 instruments it seems like that would take a little while....it almost seems easier to just load up a bank on the ASR named the same as the sequence in the MPC.
