Hey everyone I just picked up a Roland JV1080 to replaced an MC-303 that I was using as a sound module. Anyway, ever since I got the 1080 I have been seeking to connect with other users of JV - Series especially the 1080. Anyone have any leads on forums such as this one that cater to JV users. So far I found 3. One of them being http://www.vintagesynth.com/, the other two are Roland Clan and The main Roland site(weak).

Most of those sites I have found are way old and not being updated with any new content. The rest of the lot aren't as in depth as this one, meaning just a bunch of n00bs asking how to turn the darn thing on. Any help would be appreciated.

I think you'll struggle to find anything useful.

The JV1080 is so easy to use, maybe nobody needed a forum?

YouTube is probably your best bet for programming tips, or just google for some old articles.

Clint hats interesting that you would mention how easy it is. I've been reading on the webs that very same thing. So far I have just started to read the manual. I also picked up the official Roland instructional video. Both I hope will get me on my way. I also have slowly been picking up some Sound Cards for it as well. So far I have 3 and one PCM card. I am waiting around on the vintage keys card which gives the JV1080 more strength and keeps it relevant.

I just wanted to see if a tipster hangout for 1080 owners existed. Thanks for the reply. I will follow your suggestions and see where they lead. CHEERS!

Unfortunately the video is on VHS, I picked it up from a video dealer on line. Check your PM.

If I am not mistaken those guys the SampleKinigs may offer a more updated video tutorial.

I just took a look at the tutorial from samplekings.com, they have samples of their JV1080 tutorial on youtube. However, I only see them using a 5080?

Anyone know if the JV1080 is specifically covered in this series? If not where could I find such a tutorial, thanks.

There is a series of masterclasses in the sound on sound magazine which I found useful. A link to the first one of four is below.

Ignore what the above poster said about easy to use. The JV1080 is well known for being annoying to edit using the screen and the manual leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe it is easy if only use the presets which is ignoring a large part of the power of this machine.

ive always wanted a jv108o but at the time I was looking vst game stepped up.

plus got the multi samples of the roland sound expansion packs and that was a major reason for getting a jv1080 so i could peep the expansion sounds.
