I see your post got closed, and this is prolly one of the reasons i started avoidin these forums....

Tutor, man, i try not to start no trouble man, but i do think it was wrong that u closed his post, he wasn't promoting anything, and wasn't asking anyone to promote anything....and since ur prolly gonna close this one too, i will go ahead and give him a few options anyway...

Yes, u can do the MPC Samples, that u can buy from tutor, but u can also hit up Ebay, or sample ur own drums off vinyl, like a lot of cats on here including myself do....

Tutor, go head and close this if you want, i won't be back on the forums for a while anyway man, it's kinda startin to become a headache, Peace Out peeps, and i'll holla at da few of you on AIM! ~1~

you have to put things in perspective.....
without them samplepacks this forum wouldn't exist!
Of course tutor don't want to promote other people's products on his own site, when his got products of his own to sell as well. After all, this is business, not charity.

besides, from what i've heard his packs are actually good and they're all reasonably priced , unlike most of the sample packs you see on ebay going for two hundred dollars..

But what i'm sayin though, i understand that the sample packs run the site, I see that, i understand that, i wont know how good they are, cuz i don't use em...

BUT, asking a question on where he can find sounds ISN'T promotion.... if i say, "Where can I find a good Keyboard?" Isn't promoting keyboards.... It's askin a question.... ya'll coulda told him, "MPC-Samples" or coulda told him, "Sample breakbeats" or coulda told him whatever... hes new on the boards, that was his first post here... and if you think he's gonna buy a sample pack from MPC-Samples, now that his stuff RUDELY got posted, then u dead wrong, cuz i know at least if it was in ma shoes, after that happened, i'd automatically have a impression of these boards, and wouldn't come back at all, let alone come back and purchase a sample pack.... shyts just out-right rude to me, but it's cool, ya'll do what ya'll do...

I'm afraid we don't allow promotion of other sample manufacturers on this site (please read the forum guidlines again) as these forums are paid for from the sales of samples on

www.mpc-samples.com

You'll find plenty of MPC1000 compatible drum hits and breakbeats on the above site.

Thanks :)

I don't think he was acting rude at all.. In fact he was very correct and helpful.
And it would've been a topic about other site's sample cd's so of course he locked the topic.. You would have done the same thing if you were him!

Isn't the MPC a sampler?

I just read the guys post and he wasn't promoting anything - but I don't know if someone posted after him that was promoting something so...

Perhaps he should have worded his thread a little better - something to the affect of "I need some sounds - idea's?"

I of course would have retorted somewhat smuggly and said something like "ah, vinyl, duh!" but I wouldn't have locked him in a Iraqi jail cell with a gay ex con on speed - but hey, we all have our sick fantasies ~ don't we ~

Look, each time someone posts a thread 'Where can I get sounds from',, it always follows that people start recommending every damn site on the internet (sometimes without even mentioning MPC-samples). Then when they notice the word censors have kicked in, they come back and try to get around the filters.

I have nothing against the poster and locked the post in as friendly way as possible.

To be honest, I don't give a toss if this upsets people, because I'm sick and tired of PAYING for and administering this forum and getting VERY LITTLE money back from it. Why the **** do you think I run all the MPC-Tutr web sites? I'm all for helping people out and have done FOR FREE for several years, but I also cannot see why I can;t also make some moeny from all the hard work I have put in over the years. So, what kind of fool lets people recommend other sample CD sites on his own forums? Hence I now have to nip these type of thread in the bud before it get to that stage - so I acknowledge that the original post didn't actually promote anything, but you can be damn sure that the resulting replies would have done. Go to any other forums on the internet that are set up my private companies as a promotional tool and you'll get the same thing - any posts that advertise, recommend or promote your competitors will get removed.

These forums are is NOT a haven of free speech, they are privately run forums that a) help people out with free knowledge and b) offer me an opportunity to try to promote my products and make some money - if I don't like something, it gets locked or deleted. And if you don't like my actions, well I think you can guess what my reply to that is and I wish you all the best. It's becoming very clear to me from my web stats and my database records that hardly ANYONE on these forums is buying from MPC-Samples - guess what that means...

I used to love running this forum, but these days I find myself getting less and less motivated to be an active participant. I have total respect to the members who spend many hours helping out fellow members and to all the moderators who keep things together - without all these people these forums would be nothing. But please remember that these forums are not free and someone has to pay for the dedicated server and bandwidth that host it, and all the time sent administering , designing and coding it - so understand why I need to be strict about posts that can be detrimental to the funding and motivation behind it all.

Word Mr. Tutor - I feel you - When I was promoting clubs and raves I definately discouraged people from promoting @ my venue or event - that's business

Personally I can not justify buying a sample CD because I have way to many records on hand that would just throw a fit if I inserted a CD into my CD Drive on the CPU for a snare hit - however I am more than willing to donate a couple bucks to the site

I'm making a point here - sampling vinyl to me is the heart and soul of working with a MPC (what this website is based on - the MPC) so to me (In my opinion and only mine) it doesn't make sense to say well if you don't buy my CD's I'm shutting the site down - what about donations, or T-Shirts (which would be really cool) or you could put all those samples and a few "oh yeahs" and "Kick it's" on a vinyl battle record - these are just ideas

Your site's really cool - I love it but if this one gets shut down another will surface - I'm not going to do it because I don't want to but I'm sure someone else will

Thanks for doing this MPC-Tutor - you are doing us a service

where should I send my donation?

We used to have a donation system, but once I moved to selling products, it didn't seem right to have a donation button as we weren't a non-commercial resource anymore. I'd rather provide a product, so people who support the site also get something tangible for their support (e.g. a pack of sounds). Maybe I'll look at creating an MPC-Forums Samplepack...

Imma Miss the homie Mike.........I really think tutor and mike has points......this is a privately ran site........let's say if you had a big show you was promoting at your show you paid for and then some dude out the crowd snatches the microphone from you and says "man don't waste your time on x's show, come roll with us"........that man just got free promotion and took some of your business just like that......the packs pay for the site...they don't cost that much.....and I hear they are actually quality.......so if cats wanna recommend something other than the site you can pm the person....I wouldn't like to play clean up since this is not our property we do have to pay attention to the rules.........I wouldn't wanna see the day where I wouldn't be able to come here if I wanted to...I met to many cool headz here.....so just support the site and follow the rules

any one who would buy any other sample packs should be shot anyways, think about it, if you regularly visit the site, you cannot deny its usefullness-god send....so how could you deny atleast trying out the sample packs?

besides the fact that these are the best drums you can buy for the price........THE best bang for your buck, period. And im soon about to buy some more.(just gotta pay bills first)

Other sites i would be sceptic to buy from, and repeat buying from, but not mpc-samples.com, but being a part of this forum, and the way tutor runs his site "professionallY" i can also trust that i will be satisfied with his product. so i totally agree with mpctutor, hes just tryin to pay the bills, and be professional about it.

IVe bought from others, own a mophatt, px7, triton, and tons of vinyl, and i still like to use at least one of the drums sounds from tutor. The packs have saved me time, energy and money. ANYthing else could be a scam, especially on ebay....most of those are rehashes of current equipment. Or sampled from "the cronic," man, i could do that.....

PLUS the service is awesome, There was no delay on replies, or nothing. I bought the Breaks and bass, and mutha drums. And I plan on going to the "break beat vault" by the end of this month.

even shit isnt free, you gotta pay for the food you eat first.

btw. the mpc sucks, get an mv8000 instead.

Wow! How old are the people on this site?

Whats all the fu*king crying about...The man consistently says no outside promotion and time after time sum little baby pops up with a small understanding of why he says so.

Mike, you aint seeing it right....The original post was an invitation for others to storm in with a long list of othesites and forms of sources to obtain samples from.

Tutor was simply nipping the thread in the bud by sayin....Hey no outside promotion allowed, but check www.mpc-samples.com.... Its a site I have thats may be able to help some of your needs. *Thread Locked*

SIMPLE! Noboby got taken to jail....I've a feeling this site will be gone sooner than later. People dont really show any appreciation for shit on here like they use to. Always someone on here with either a stupid question or a mouthfull of attitude. It s already gettin boring for me and I dont even run/maintain the site.

I say fu*k em....
