I've got a friend who wants to trigger his MPC 2000XL with a Boss DR-770. W believe we have the MIDI connections right...MPC MIDI Out going to DR770 MIDI IN and DR770 MIDI Out going to MPC MIDI In...but no dice. He's digging for his manual for the 770 to see if there's something missing from the 770s end, but if anyone has experience with this...using another drum machine with the MPC, it would be helpful. The manual isn't free anywhere so far in my search, so if someone has it for downloading, it would be greatly appreciated.

On a side note...of course, we became fascinated when Pete Rock revealed that he's got his SP-1200 synced to his MPC 2000XL.

havent done this with a 770, but with a RY30 (yamaha). Are you trying to sync the two so they play in time, or are you trying to midi grogramme the 770 using the MPC sequencer.

If you are syncing make sure you are sending midi clock out of mpc and set 770 midi clock to external. then everytime yo ustart your mpc, the 770 should start running too. Sorry it's not not specific about the 770, but this works with my Yammy and MPC60.

Thanks, we'll look into that right away.
