is there record players that hook up to the mpc midi. if not how do you hook one up

I know this question is for tutor but I'll save him some time ;P

I cannot think of a possible purpose for having a turntable that hooks up to the midi input (maybe sync data like the new stanton mp3 player but that's not likely). I think what you really wanna know is if you can record direct from your turntable using the audio inputs correct? Well I've heard of turntables with a digital output so that might be an option for you. Other wise you'll have to look for a pre amp to turn the phono level to line level or perhaps there is a turntable that outputs line level. An example of a pre amp would be a dj mixer. Anyway take a look at the specs and look for either a spdif digital out or line level out. If neither of those are availble in the model you want you'll need to look into getting a mixer.

Depends on what you want. You may want one with an eq so you can cut those nasty frequencies or you may want a mixer to cut with. I have a vestax pro06a but if your not into djing then something like that might be a bit overkill. A low end numark, stanton, pioneer or gemini dj mixer could get you started but again matters what your looking for (I assume since you are looking for a table that connects direct to your mpc that your not the type to spend money you don't have to).
