HI EVERYBODY,

first of all as a new user of the mpc i want to thank everyone who contributes to this site as this has been a real help in getting me started
on this beat and have learned a lot from all of you.

I was just curious to know about what some of you people do in terms
of modulation in the mpc.... What you route modulation sources to
on certain samples to give them a unique vibe...

hope to hear from you all.

take care

The note variation slider and the 16 level feature will allow you to modulate your drums tuning and velocity. Fool around with it and also the filter, attack, and decay features on the slider. After awhile you'll notice your sounds will have more liveliness and character. Good Luck

thanks for the tips dre. will try those out.
do you play around with the attack on the drums????
I couldn't find a good explanation for the 16levels in the manual.
how does it work... Is it a velocity thing?????

Mute, I sometimes adjust the attack on my drums but usually when I have say two kicks layered. I may tweak the attack on one kick to prevent that muddy distorted sound you might get when playing two kicks at once.

The 16 level function controls either tuning or velocity depending on the setting. Tuning is self explanatory, and velocity is volume. Like I said play around with it and you will not record a sequence without it.

Good Luck

thanks for the help dre....

i can't wait to get home and bang some beats. the groove is awsome on this machine, there was just no explanation on the 16 levels in my manual... do you play each hit with a different pad at different veléocities
or tuning????

best regards
