studio workarounds

easy people, so what do you dudes do when you dont have the full requirements to get the job done.
Il give my contribution as an example and will add more as i remember/think of them.
Ok so i only got stereo outs on my 2kxl but i got effects processor and i always work with mono tracks in my mp so i pan every channell full left and then have right channell on mixer sent 100% to effects, then as a kind of aux on my mpc i just pan a sound further right the more reverb delay etc that i want on the sound. What you dudes do?

sometimes i like running a 'master' fx bus consisting of compressor/exciter etc.
sometimes i don't.

in order to be able to switch easily back and forth, i route the mute group / alt 3-4 output into the fx buss. then i route the fx bus back into my mixer on an open channel.
any sound i want to get passed to the master fx bus, i just mute, and it goes to the bus, mixed just like normal.

this problem would be solved if i used my tape rerouter properly, and of course one potential problem is a wicked feedback loop if i ever mute the channel that the master fx bus comes back into.

Turn everything off and go to sleep, the best workaround ever.

My analog ins are **** in my 2500 so I have to work around a lot.. I can't just plug a mixer or anything like that straight in, as you'd usually do..
So i have to record records to my computer first.. and then use the USB port to get that shit into the MP..
Used to be really annoying, but it's OK. I usually do seperate sessions for every step.

BTW; does anyone know of a mixer with a digital out??

my alesis multimix 12usb got a 44.1 digi out. Pretty wack as mixers go though and pre amps sound awful and are very noisy at high gain. Thanks for actually adding to discussion and not just linkin to a broader thread that will entice a very different response to what im tryin to provoke here. No hate just tryin to find ways that people have adapted to get the most from their setup as it may enable others to realise more potential to thier gear. Without these kind of methods many classics would have sounded very different imo
