EB-16...is the high pass worth the $$$?

Can someone tell me just how good (or bad) the high pass filter on the EB-16 is? I think most people on this site would say that a dedicated filter box would be the better way to go but I'm not trying to be a pro at this beat making thing--I just want to get the most out of the samples that I have and right now a high pass filter would open up a lot more possibilities for my music. Plus, with the EB-16, I do like the idea of having all that I need housed inside of the MPC and not having a little sidekick module further crowding the desk in my room.
