hit songs created using MPC's / famous producers that use MP

Doing a presentation on my MPC1000 next week, i would also like to talk about the history of the MPC. iv got some stuff on roger linn and the family of mpc's but could do with some info on songs created using them. Not just the mpc1000.

bearing in mind the people who i am doing the presentation may not be familiar with many producers, is there any hit songs that almost anyone should know that were created using an MPC. or if anyone could point me to a list of producers/songs/albums/soundtracks that have an MPC behind them would be great.

well I am not entirely sure, but I always assumed most of dr dre's productions were done on the mpc 3000... and dr dre is pretty well known.. so check into that.

do you have an MPC? Do you like hip hop music? Do you have access to Google? Do you have access to Youtube?

If you answered yes to any of these then you should already know the answer

yeah but pop songs? I cant think of any off the top of my head that I know 100% they were made on an mpc...

that's why it is called research, whether or not you get answers here, I still would think "real sources" would suit your presentation better. Not sure if "www.mpc-forums" would be considered a "legit" source by academic standards.....

Im doing research. Dont think i came straight here to ask. Just thought i should ask here because its full of mpc users. Lookin for as much info as possible from people Who know. I do use an mpc and know a bit about it but there is always someone Who knows more. Thanks for the info anyway and any more Will be appreciated.

I know Stock, Aitken and Waterman had an MPC 60 in their studio back in the day, but they seem to mainly credit their drums to a Linn drum machine.

Might be worth digging deeper though as they sold a shit load of records in the 80s.

Jarre also got the 60 but I dont know on wich song(s) he used it.

The LINN is all over the 80s popsongs. Prince, Human League, Billy Idol ....whatever.

recent pop songs? 6 foot 7 foot by wayne was made on a 2000xl. theres a youtube video somewhere.

Just read that zombie nation used an MPC4000, possibly for live performances judging by the picture.
