i am planning on buying a dps12 off of ebay... this guy is selling one and i asked him if the dps has the effects card in it... he said he doesnt know if it is installed but the effects screen comes up with all the options (flanger,reverb,etc.). my question is does that mean the unit has the effects card installed or does this option show up even if the card is not installed?

That screen shows up regardless of if the machine has the effects card or not.

I have one, and thought the same thing, until I tried to add effects and heard nothing.

Then I read the manual and it said "The effects screen will come up whether or not you have the card. If you don't have the card, you will simply hear no effects".

This is a paraphrase from the manual, not a direct quote, but you get the idea.

But yo---the dps12 is a bad@$$ piece of machinery once you figure out how to use it!
