your favorite sample flip

whats your favorite sample flip? where you hear the original and the flip, and you either say "wow, thats incredible" or you wish you flipped it.

?

I don't know about my favorite, but a recent one that caught my eye was this, only because I didn't recognize the sample and made be dig like hell to find it and it was different then the regular soul or funk flip.

Tough to say my favorite flip, but No ID's "man's world" for Beanie Sigel smashes JDillas if you ask me. I feel like I'm the only dude who thinks JDilla is overrated.

yeah, i like that one.

I think its always cool when you grab part of the song most people would loop up, and use it for intro, or even chorus, but flip it up and make ill beat outa the bits and pieces. makes it an ill flip. of course im not one to advocate chopping for the sake of chopping. if its cool, loop it.

but definately one of the requirements of an ill flip is to hear those parts no one else does and make other producrs say "why the **** didnt i think of that" like its so natural, and simple, its so obvious when you hear it flipped, but before hand its hard to hear unless you got dem ears. ya know?

A Tribe Called Quest can sure flip the shit out of Kool and The Gang records. Most of the stuff they sampled doesn't even sound like the original pieces.

A lot of the flips on 2Pac's All Eyez On Me are great because they are so short and so low-sample rate.

true but the same apply with loops. I always wonder about the loops that are "hidden" in tracks. Even in well known tracks. I sometimes load a track into my DAW, turn on "play cycle", select a region of 4 beats and then shift the audioevent bit by bit, beat by beat sometimes evan half beats. Diggin for loops

definately a good technique. I do that with JJOS NDC chop sometimes. Ill just scrub the audio using random start points. it would be cool if you could lock in a lenght on a NDC chop (like 2 bars) and just move the region around.
