how can i sample from radio or tv into my mpc2500???

how can i sample from radio or tv into my mpc 2500?is it possible?if so can somebody please explain or show me how to?

If the TV has red and white RCA jacks on the back, go to Radio Shack and get a stereo RCA to stereo 1/4" cable. Or get a regular stereo RCA cable and 2 RCA to 1/4" adapters. Some of the newer TV's only have audio out through the HDMI, in that case you've got to get the HDMI audio/video feed into something like a home theater receiver and pass an analog signal on the RCA/1/4" from there. I wouldn't worry over 95% of TV's from the last 20 years have the RCA's, even newer ones.

One word of advice, when you send the signal out the TV, the TV volume will govern the loudness of the signal going to the MPC. So get a decent level coming out the TV first, that way you don't have to crank the gain on Rec In on the MPC all the way up, which would probably clip and distort the recording.

If it's an old tv without an audio out, DO NOT hook up a wire to the speaker terminals in the case. I did just that and got a nasty shock, blowing up the tv in the process. CRT = don't open her up and mess
