A any body got a portable turntable from numark or vestex if so...

How do you like it? How does it work in your settup? How durable is it and how do shops treat you when you show up with one.

I had vestax but now have the numar and both of them is cool but to me i like the build/feel/look of the numark.

the vestax is real loud but the way the tone arm is stored during travel is wack.

the BEST portable players by a long run are SOUND BURGERS by audio technica. has hi-fi quality playback - small and light weight - u can even hook them up to your stereo system. they don't have a speaker build in - so it's a headphones only affair but the quality is supreme! shamefully their not available anymore - it's an eighties dittie - and they have become super popular again these last years - hence the high prices they fetch - i found mine for like $10 but i've seen them for $500 too. flea markets are the best place to cop em cheap. truss'me they the don dada boss!

there's one on ebay now - check it out

that joint looks crazy but i think the numark portable is the best.. it has great sound on it..

The sound burgers are dope, but them joint be comanding like any where from 100 and up. What makes it so bad was that I had one when i was a kid. Didn't know what i had. oh well..

But i got the numark as well. I was going to get the vastax joint but decided against it at the last sec because i want something a little more rugged. Plus i got the numark joint for 70 bones, brand new from PSSL.

The only thing that i don't like about the numark is that the out put from the RCA's are a little airy. Meaning that if you were going to use the portable for just a sampler turntable. It adds a bit of air to the record.
But the plus side is that it will fit in a crate along with your records.

That PSSL hook up is the 110 match price joint that they offer. Just say you saw it some where else for x amount and they will match the price plus 10 percent.
I'll look for the web site that had it and provide the link for it.

Actually that statement is False....

i did a field test with my numark running the audio outputs through a fieldtester ocilliscope...

The Technics 1200 m3ds Suck compare to the output level of the of the Numark,....

the technics have 8 db of headroom noise...
Where as the Numark Pt01 has 3 db..........

Pete rock even did an article about it... How the numarks surpass most portable and even home turntables.....

The reason is the built in preamp...

What you probally concieved to be air passing through the recording slots was a bad Noise ratio
.....
Meaning the record could have been scratchy and worn.....

Or your volumes where limited at one of two places....
The main Volume on the turntable...
Or the Volume at the input stage of your mixer...
.................
I mean Bob rock producer of Metallica ,Aerosmith, Bon Jovi ,Bruce springstein... he uses the damm thing... as his home audio turntable...

As for stores getting scared I straight up tell them that I make money doing this and that they will make more too if they let me do it..

I go to the record store everyday now that I have this table...

And now I dont buy less records I buy more now that I know what Iam buying I can sift out really bad records and come out with records that are worth 10 dollars on ebay making a profit too..

Stores are scared of people who cant pay..........
What people dont know is that the Numark is your friend...
Stores that give you problems should be dealt with...
Dont buy a single record.. Go in there and Listen with the numark, But The numark has 3 recording or listening jacks...
Rca, 1/4", mini plug...
I always have a 1/4" to Mini plug adapter cord.... Here is the big secret....
Have your head phone cord and tape this other 1/4' to mini plug adapter cord along with your head phone cord so they look like one...
Now when you plug your headphones in to listen plug the 1/4 in plug in to..
Now you must have a minidisc or portable dat recorder,..plug the other mini plug end into the mini disc and record away..

Tada Now you are a travelling sampler... Record whatever sample you want and dont pay for a record full of stuff you dont want we you are only using one drum kick..

Very good way to get drums...
Quick not too much work etc...
Most mini disc recorders have remotes now days.. for seperating tracks,..\
And dont forget to tell the source at the beginning just in case you want to buy it..

Just a little trick for the broke people who love music
