i tried out a new way of making drum rolls the other day... it sounds pretty nice.
what i did was take my bpm down about 25 percent, then record the roll at the slower bpm whilst using the decay function on the slider with my snare,
just slowly tapping and getting a bit faster toward the end of the roll whilst opening up the decay (starting with a very quick decay) so that the drums get more sustained as the roll goes on.
oh yeah the reasion for the bpm change was for me to be more precise with the pattern, you can do sum mad shit this way.
anyone do it differently?
