Cutting off samples by others on the 2KXL

I want to cut off a sample by kick or something else, while the kick (as example) is playing ...
But only while the kick is playing ... And the sample should play after the kick is played ...
I like the atmosphere a lot with this style ...

program edit -> params -> voice overlap.
go to where you choose 'mono', 'note off' or 'poly'. hit open window on that. here you can choose which pads will be cut off by the pad you are editing.

Yea I knew and used this before .. But is there a way to cut a sample only off, when another is played and the same sample is played after it ? So a Kick cuts the sample only for a short time ... Listen to the SC Track ...

no.

chop small, use track mutes and do it manually.

or dj mixer connected to 4 different channels of 8 outs and use the crossfader.

lots of ways to do that but not automatically in the mpc.

One way to do it would be to use 'velocity->sample start' to chop the sample. Then give it a short attack and decay. Then use 16 levels to get your chops and fine tune it in step edit. That way you'd have have it fade into/out from whatever drum you want to interrupt the sample.

in that track that you use as an example its not the kick actually cutting off other sounds

its just a shitload of compression that makes it sound that way
