nah. dont get it twisted. i wanted a discussion of tuning drums to your beat, and had heard some producers tune their shit more often than not.

TUNING your drums: pitch vs feel vs smack vs ????

I was wondering how many people tune their drums vs just going for the feel. I definitely mess with the pitch knob on my 2 drum machines but I rely on my ear instead of semitones/scales.

I’m am a hardcore keep it in the box guy but I must admit this TORQUE plug-in looks impressive. 1 day maybe I’ll que it up in my ableton setup.

DokBrown lurking in the graveyard.
I always tune my drums to get them to match each other and the sample.

Do math them via key/semitones or just by ear ?

I believe KSHMR did a session on this but I can’t find it right now.

He also plays keys so I notice his drums tend to be “harmonically correct.” He uses ableton, but the principles remain the same
