favorite drum libraries?

whats your favorite drum libraries?
is there one you couldent live without?

i have croups filthy drums, battery 3 and am building my own library of free kits ive found online and traded with friends.
im also building my library of breaks up, although i find myself using library stuff more often than breaks.

which ones are your favorites?

croups has some killer snares, i think it was 30 dollars.

how many of you use libraries, and which are your favorite ones?

I don't really use libraries as such, I'm always too worried to pay for something that might only have like 2 useable sounds on them.

But those TS-Vinyl packs that get posted on here from time to time with the individual folders of kicks, snares, hats and perc are priceless. So many nice textures in there, perfect for layering.

I do have Jungle Warfare 1-3, more for nostalgia, I don't think I've ever used anything extensively off them. And I've also got one called Junk Percussion which has a few old sounds that Photek used. Again more for nostalgia but sample packs can be as inspirational as tunes IMO.

i feel you on not wanting to spend money on stuff you dont think youll use much, there is always a few sounds where im like wtf is this?

but for real the croups stuff is really good for boom bap style drums, i also wanna check out those boondoc drums.

alot of places have demo kits you can download for free to test out their sounds, and alot of those are specifically related to a certain pack.

i download all that TS stuff too, its pretty nice. although i still need to learn the art of layering breaks, it always seems to me that they are "weaker" sounding than processed samples in libraries, maybe i should boost the volume of the break stuff or normalize it?

do you ever do this to your breaks?

different things like some libraries only the kicks are good others only the hats so i combine the best into my own library

Zukan's Stretch That Note. unreleased. stay tuned. this was the first sample library that i was ever compelled to use. everything else sounds canned and inferior to chopped breaks, in my opinion. STN is.... fearsome.

i aint got none of magic theatres drums but am interested in the magic breaks which if u think is the same as raw vinyl hits but just unchopped.

but ive heard the demo of hig end drums and that shit is crack defo looking to get both volumes of that.

magic theature audio had some good ones, i just downloaded the demo kits, its cool cause high end drums have each hit tuned to a certain note so it would say something like snare_crack (c#)

you can download a few demo kits from them.

sounds in HD has a good demo kit too, they have some killer snares, i wana cop those sometime.

i bought the goldbaby super analog 808 and its dope!
it has chromatically tuned kicks in battery files, .exs and kontakt formats as well as the regular .wav's. i thinkt they're in 24 bit though so you gotta convert them to dump in your mp unless your rockin the 4k.

also sonic specialists has 350 free drums if you enter for their mailing list.
they have cool drums and also sounds that are built to layer. like not full drums, but layer-able sounds that compliment your kicks and snares.
