I'm planing to buy Logic Pro 9, for tracking beats from the MPC 1000. I was looking around on Apple Store and there was Logic Pro 9 for $499 and $199.

Are those two same? The cheaper one was not an upgrade. I was just wondering if anybody knew something about this and their diffrences, and which one I should get?

I need it to track beats with MIDI sync, edit and compress etc.

Umm, on Apple's website, it is sold for $199, for download option. I am not 100% sure, but maybe $499 version is DVD-ROM version.

I believe the only major difference between the two is that
the $500 dollar comes with a couple extra features.
Like more apple loops. Things that aren't necessary,
Im positive the $200 one comes with all the plug ins
and instruments that the $500 dollar one has.

I honestly wish the $200 dollar one would have came out sooner.
It Would've saved me a couple dollars

Yeah, $499 is the DVD package, $199 is for download...

I'm wondering if the whole program is same, that you have all same options with plugins, effects etc..?

The sounds included doesn't bother me at all. I love diggin' after things that I need, yeah it's extra work, but it's sweet at the end!

If both function as each other, I'm taking the cheaper one..too short with the cash-flow!

they're the same bar the content.

BUT, the $500 gives you all the additional software like Mainstage, Soundtrack Pro, etc...
