Re-Sampling from DAT or CD BURNER For LOUDER SOUND??

Has anyone ever resampled sound from the Dat or CD Burner or something with a Higher A/D Conversion rate to a better sound ala (Louder Snares)
or Crisp Hats?

I dunno i sample from my old 8 track cassette recordings and they sound real good.

what do you mean? like sample first into the 8 track, then into the mpc?

I gotta try that. I know if you wait too long, depending on the quality of the tapes, you can loose a little crisp ness, but thats good, because the mpc adds plenty of that!

Do you se the eqs on the 8 track.

Kind of, in high school we had a 8 track and a ms-1, got like 50-100 songs and beats, some of the samples and loops we (I had a squad) used I cant find the vinyl or forgot where they came from so I hook up the old 8 track to my mixer and sample. I'd recomend it only for drums - sounds super nasty in a good way. If you had newer tapes it would prolly be better, some of these tapes are almost 10 years old now, so it gets sh!tty in spots.

But your getting that naturual tape saturation/compression.

If you are resampling somthing that is already recorded you will not find any advantage to going to a higher A/D conversion. The only time that a higher A/D conversion will benefit you is if you are recording something live and the added headroom that you get will create a wider dynamic range.

i just think that is crazy lame. I mean yeah sampling is sampling, but cmon now. Thats like stealing your peers work, not flipping your elders forgotten music. the whole appeal of sampling to me, is breathing new life into old music. I mean if ur just messing around whatever. but to me thats stragiht up biting someone. I would be pissed if i saw some lil jerko** samplin my drums stragiht off my beat. id be like "what in the **** u think ur doin? ? ?" and then unplug his shit.
