Discuss the various methods you use in music production, from compressor settings to equipment type.

I have several pieces of equipment. An electribe ER-1, ea-1, EMX-1, Roland Gaia, and a behringer xenyx 802 mixer. I plan on getting an mpc 500, or 1000, but leaning more towards buying a 1000 used. I need a sampler, and an mpc would be nice because I'd like to learn to perform instead of just program stuff. But I also need to eq all the parts of a project and using a DAW is a much more expensive investment than an mpc because I would have to buy a whole new computer, and a software, and then an interface.

But to the point, would either of the mpc models be sufficient for eq'ing each individual part with my mixer, then sampling into the mpc, and then resequencing the parts, or preferably also triggering the parts live? I'm not talking about the whole part through the whole song, just sampling the however many bars it is then looping it like it would on the original peice of equipment.

yeah, that should work no problem. either eq when sampling or when resampling.
resampling is very quick and easy to do. you just assign your sound to an individual out, send that to the eq (or any other outboard gear - guitar pedals work really well) then back to the inputs for sampling. then trim and assign to pad.
