And If you use "NOTE ON" stead of "ONE SHOT" and mess with the ADSR a little... You can really play it like an instrument..

its true - the sequencer running fast enough can literally turn the box into a granular synthesiser.
16 levels + 3 pads gives you just as much note control as an auto-chromatic program, with the benefit of being able to adjust parameters for all notes much easier (you only need to make 3 adjustments vs 48).
you do lose 'polyphony' though as you can only play one note per pad per track.

also when you find the perfect loop point you can really start tweaking new instruments.

Never thought about this. I just tried it by playing a Kickdrum on every step (TC OFF of course) with different tuning on different BPM. Damn glitchy sounds I never heard of the MPC. I also added distortion & reverb. Now that is noise and fun

I will try some longer deversified samples too and play with the velocity & velocity to sample start function

wow you took it even further i normally just do it with note repeat you are really using all 96ppqn here amazing
ive done so many recordings using this technique but never with tc off props.

Nice...but why don't you consider that sampling?

Because it is sampling. Any soundsource recorded with a digital device is a sample. What cosider you as a sample?

True as well.. But not what I meant.. I meant the note ON function so the sample doesn't allways play to the end, but just as long as you hold the Pad.. With ADSR you can then add some release.
If you have really short samples you can also use the Loop function just on the tail of the sample to make it longer. Just be carefull you don't have any digital clicks where you don't want em..
