Versions

Lately I've taken to using a versions concept when I save my work.

Like, I'm working strong on a new song. When I save it, I'll make a folder with the song name. Then I'll make a folder named 1 inside that folder and save my project in there.

If I decide to try something radical, I'll save that project in a folder named 2.

This is nice when I've decided that I don't like where I went with the song, I can easily go back by loading up one of the other numbered folders.

When I'm about finished with things, I delete all the numbered folders and save my final project in the song folder.

yeah this is a good idea. i've used it in fl studio and just chost "Save as" and make a seperate file. and i liked the way that new project was going, i'd continue to work on it.

i also make a "dry" version of all my tracks, then I use different final effects and save each one and let people listen to the different final versions. i've wound up with like 10+ copies of the same song before lol

Just in time man, I'm just facing problems with saving my work.

Lol I also make the mistake to load a project in stead of saving it.. hours of work.. gone..................

Sometimes ihave to root maps and switch to load mode, then I forgot I was in load mode and quickly press the buttnz... :L

you dont get tired of hearing the same tune over and over again ?
