looping trouble

damm man i just can't get my looping down right .the timimg is off by aleast one or two bars all the time..i've played with tsig.even turned the timimg off, i even tried just using 3 bars ... still no master piece so will someone please tell me wtf i'm doing wrong ?? i think that i could learn better if someone has aol instant messenger,or yahoo so that i could let you hear what i'm doing and maybe you could tell me what it is that i'm doing wrong.. so someone please help me my life depends on this shit being right .. please help a fellow mpc user spead the knowlege

Did you try the looping tutorial on this site? Dowload the sounds and follow the tutorial. It helped me figure out looping. Try setting the start point of the loop differently than the start point of the sample. Another thing is that if your loop has drum sounds, then make sure the BPM is correct.

When I first got my mpc2000, I had a problem looping sequences. I had to upgrade to os 1.72. Now I rarely have those problems except about a month ago a sequence virtually erased itself by looping later and later. Very scary. I never figured out what caused that but I think someone said it had something to do with the controllers I was using

akai, the 1.72 OS is for MPC2K, the 1.14 is for MPC2KXL. Different beasts.
