Love the times of sound of Poke n Tone and Puffy round this era.

I have a general idea of what they did but am wondering if anyone else have looked into this style and have any tips or advice?

yea. they sampled and a lot of times has bands cover the sampled beats

I did hear a bit of that happening on Pras's album
