Another Sample Question

I understand how to speed my samples up, but how do you filter the intruments out when sampling vocals (using the 1000). I went to settings in the filter screen but when I use them it turns the volume of the sample down. And thats another things, how do you turn the pad volume up outside of doing it the mixer screen?

thats a whole can of worms . . . its very rarely an easy thing to scrub instruments from a vocal. even after a bunch of serious processing, you'd probably onlyt be able to decrease the levels, not eliminate them, and odds ar you will mess up the vocal as well. alot of it depends on the individual piece of audio you are trying to process.

the easiest way to try to isolate a vocal involves using the main track and the IDENtICAL instrumental. you can try to set noise reduction to the instrumental and scrub it out of the track, or you can try to invert the phase of the instrumental and combine the two tracks which would in theory cancel out the instrumental.

but this stuff rarely works easily, takes alot of tweaking, and sometimes its not really possible. and theres enough to it that i would spend some time googling around for more info and ideas that people have, cause its hard but people always be trying to do stuff like this.

U may want to use an audio editing program. Adobe Audition, Bias Peak (mac), Cool edit pro.

Filtering out the highs, lows, etc...tend to eliminate certain things...but it is true u cant get rid of everything
