Sampling MP3

Hey yall I got a #k and 1K and was a Record fanatic,still am. But I was curious about sampling MP3s and other self made live recordings like guitar and rhodes ect from my PC. But do I come straight out of my sound card into the PC or do I need a DI box. Does the MPC want to see Line level?

i would just batch convert the mp3 to wav, most editing/daw software will do it...plus its all done at one time. thats what i do...recording takes longer plus you have to trim it all in the mpc....i do it all on the comp and click and drag to my 1000 via usb..to me its faster and easier.

I want to record it into my 3K for that 3K sound. You dont get the 3K sound without the gain stage.

No one recording in the Daw and resampling it in there MPC?

what i do if i want to record mp3 into my mp is i have a cable from my phone to my mpc. also, if you have an internal sound card on your computer you can use the same cable i'm talking about and connect it to your mpc.

you dont need a di box if your coming out of your computer to the mpc's line ins.
