yeah it's a good idea.. sometimes I did that on daws using stereo separators or shapers to do that... didn't know it was called the haas effect though. Also, I never tried setting that type of delay up on the eb16. The problem with the eb16 is the effect going into it bypasses the stereo mixer... so you can adjust the panning of the eb16's output, but I think it does it for everything that is routed into it (I believe you can have unique pan control for the eq, reverb, and some of the other parts though... but I never tried messing with it too much)

yeah it's weird.. you have the effects send for the EB... but that doesn't have pan, it has the assignment for which one of the 4 potential effect slots you want to use. The last two selectable slots are only reverbs which you use the effect send mixer for wet/dry in combination with the stereo mixer... that is easy to figure out (plus those dedicated reverb only channels I think have their own pan as well) and the first two effect slots are multi effects that have gain overdrive distortion, delay, 4 band eq filter, reverb, and there is a phase shifting type of thing in the EQ... you basically have to turn the direct dry signal off and only allow the signal running through the multi-effect get played though because it will cause phase issues on samples... however in the output menu you get a volume amount for each effect type within the multi effect and you can pan the effect channel or assign what stereo pair of outputs on the 8 outs you want the entire eb16 to go to.

Basically, it's an archaic effect chain style setup.. it's fairly limiting... you cant have a custom effect for each of your 16 pads... it screws up the stereo in stereo samples so you might as well reserve the eb16 for mono samples... and maybe for the haas effect it would be possible to assign the same sample to two pads... and record the first hit for the left panned one.. then in step edit you click a few ticks ahead and tap in the right panned sample.

Or 16 level the panned right pad, hit the 16th pad and very quickly hit another pad about 10th or 11th pad down but I have a feeling that wouldn't sound right because it would be hard to get it in that 35 millesecond window

wait! I got the solution! you assign a single stereo sample of the sample you need the haas effect on to the 8 outputs 1/2 .. now you use a short 1/4" cable for the left (1) ... and a 90,000 kilometer cable on the right (2) for 30 milliseconds of delay!

one way to do it in the 2kxl with no effects

copy a sample to a new sample
from trim screen, copy / paste insert silence (or 'air') into the beginning of the sample ... probably a good idea to overdo it here because you can always cut the amount of air later by adjusting start point.
now you have two options :
1) combine these two new samples to a new stereo sample (page 96 manual [make sure to use your 'delayed' sample as the L source...otherwise it will get truncated])
2) assign to two pads, in mixer pan one hard L and one hard R, simult the pads.

this could get really wild if you now add a slight vel->sample start on the 'delayed' sample.

so by merging the samples, you've just created a new psuedo-stereo sample.
by keeping them independent, you can really freak the effect in real time.

but debauch's way is definitely more real.

new video!

j/k but you do a great job presenting and your shots actually look good.
props.

only room for improvement is the same i'd say to almost any yt video - 2 mins or less.

yeh simult pads and having same sample on two pads will do it, pan one pad left one pad right, have them play simult. one pads to delay, the other dry.
