s950 Basslines (16 levels)

Is there a way to have all my drums, samples, on one pad bank, and have the 16 level bass on another pad bank? I heard it has to do with the midi channel, but if someone could walk me through it step by step that would be great.

you want to use 16 levels to play a bassline on your s950, right?

pretty sure it won't work. 16 levels only works on samples internal to the mpc.
however, there is an easy work around. make a new program. then adjust the midi notes so they match the tuning that 16 level creates. or better yet choose a scale, then assign the midi notes to make a scale.

alright i will try that...but if i make a new program and do all that, wont i not be able to access my other sounds on my original program?

Make a new keygroup covering all the pads in bank B.

That way you can keep everything in the same program
