Some tips on how to handle floppy disks:
1. The disks are unprotected against magnetic fields so keep them away from any magnetic field (speakers, tuntable platter, screwdriver with magnetic tip, fridge magnets etc). Just think about the stufff you got in your household that is magnetic and dont let it come too near to the disks
2. Dont let them lay around in direct sunlight too much
3. If you're a smoker you shouldn't let them lay around while you smoke. Keep them in boxes.
The organisation of the samples depends on your workflow.
I recommend to not try to build a big library but making beats one by one but thats not s950 specific. I did that many years and it didn't work and my library is chaotic and I will never ever get it organised. Thats why I recommend another way

But you can devide your disks in 2 half and use
one half for samples only (a few disks with drumbreaks, a few with solo kicks, snares hats etc. a few with basstones)
and the other half for "track related programs". So theese are the disks where the programs of the beats are saved to.
additional tips:
Keep in mind that 1 disk can only hold 64 samples no matter if the disk memory is full or not. If you made a program with ...lets say 24 samples and you try to save it to a disk that already got 40something samples on it the 950 will freeze while saving and you will lost the program you tried to save.
The volume % in the disk menu shows how much disk space is used. But the % depends on the memory (RAM) of the sampler itself. Mine got the memory extension installed so it has 2,25 MB RAM. Since a fresh 950 formatted floppy can hold 1,6 MB the display on my 950 shows VOL 72% on a fresh formatted disk
2,25 MB x 72% = 1,6 MB
You should also think about passing the floppy disks and buy the HxC floppy emulator.
Benefits are :
1. the SD card is easy to backup on PC (for safty only. Without a special program like Awave Studio you won't be able to read out the samples with the PC)
2. 100 floppy disks laying on the desk look a bit different than 1 SD card laying there.
3. since the 950 disk drive is kind of special in its specification you'll run into some troubles if it quit working some day.
But there is also a minus for the HxC. You just can't take a pencil and lable the SD card with all the samples and/or programs on it. So organising the samples/programs on a SD card need either a piece of paper or a text processing software
