I haven't seen this posted anywhere, but maybe some of you knew about this trick.

Assign sample to pad, (for best results use a 4to 5 second drum riff at 44.1khz)
set playback to mono, not poly.
open the decay window,
set velocity--->level : 00
And set velocity--->start: 100

Turn off full levels off, youll need the velocity response.
you'll have to start recording in the sequencer, so use a new sequence,
Turn loop: off. Count ok if you want it, but you might not so you can hear the stretch.
Quantize the recording to a high value like 32 or 32(3)
Begin Recording sequence,
Hold shift and hit the note repeat key (same as tap tempo button) to engage note repeat.

Now you can push on the pad and control it's playback length (as though an after touch keyboard), without changing pitch. It gets even better use your other hand to change the quantization value during all of this, you have a nice hands on manipulation of your samples. Just copy paste the better results into your other sequences. You ought to at least find something to use for drum rolls doing this, also you can mix things up with other velocity controls.
