Silencing a Sample

As I am making sequences some of my samples are long and I would like to silence/stop them immediately so that I can UNDO. The problem is that I have to wait for the sample to run its course. the real question is:

Is there any way to stop the MPC5000 right then and there so that I can move on and work on sequences or beats; instead of having to listen to a long sample linger?

What i mostly do is just double tap the Stop button....this will stop all samples from keeping playing.

hmmmmm..... this sort of works. I am working with an MPC5000 operating system V2.0. If I am playing a sequence and hit stop it will stop. But, if hit a pad with a long sample, the sound will continue to play until it gets to the end. Hitting the stop button twice seems not to stop. I am wondering if my machine has some sort of bug!

I am sorry...my mistake....i thought it was 2 times......it should be pressing the Stop button 3 times.....

Hit mode- pad 9(Other) . Where is says Mute/Stop One Shot switch to Immediate.

This kinda goes in the same category....how do I mute a loop in the middle of the beat then unmute the loop and the loop picks up instead of waiting till the beat starts again.....Track mute doesn't let me do this with drum loops.

Man are u sure? I thought I saw someone on youtube do it....take a drum loop, add it to a beat, use track mute or something like that instead of waiting untill the beat starts back again. Is that not possible?

you just have to allow continuous sample track : highlight a track for example track 01 press window and switch Continuous Sample Track to ON then select the loop's pad (i.e Pad: A01 )

sorry, i didn't understand what you said my mistake ! , anyway it's simple....

1) PRESS MODE+ Pad7-->Select setup----->Record Mix Changes: ON, Knob/slider Take Over Mode: ON

2) you should assign the loop to a q-link

3) set the q-link to REAL TIME and Parameter: Level

4) press overdub + play and record

5) cut off the level during the recording

And that's all , your performance has been recorded

Thanks for info man....but I'm talking about doing that when u play back the beat. Record drum loop to track1. Playback the beat, mute track1, then unmute track1 and the loop comes back instead of unmuting the sample but having to wait till the beat starts over.

Yeah it was implied that you had to use the q-link sliders! you're welcome
