looking for some good quality brass vst plug-ins. Right now I have the NI Kontakt Brass Ensembles and they are cool, but just takes forever to load.

It's incredible but it's $500. It uses Kontakt's scripting and some straightforward controls to let you play very convincing and and expressive lines more easily than most VST/Horn Libraries. It was the only Horn library I ever used that was that easy to create horn sounds that sounded like samples from records.
I'm sure the excellent Chros Hein libraries can do that as well but not with so easy an interface that's still easy to use with minimal to no knowledge of the instruments being emulated.
