Almost running out of polyphony ??? MPC2500

I never tripped on this much since it never gave me problem...however the other day I constructed drum pattern in the mpc probably consisting 5 drum tracks, multiple drum sounds on few of the tracks. when I checked polyphony meter I'm using between 16-24 sounds

mind you this is all using indivudal drum hits, sample was chopped in slaved ableton. I also like to put drum breaks here and there. I imagine if I did all this in the mpc I'd be maxing out on teh polyphony

this is the beat for anybody interested, if you can hear the drums arent really anything intricate.


how some of yall go about preserving the polyphony and maximizing it ? would stacking sounds on the same pad help to conserve it?. I guess I could resample my drums into single drum loop, chop them up into few pieces and re-record over the beat. Would that help ?

here's the techniques that I can think of off the top of my head:

set pads to MONO, probably can do for almost all drum samples.
trim off any extra air at the end of drum samples, make them as short as possible.
use mute groups/targets wherever possible (high hats, etc).
make all stereo samples mono (obviously unless you need the stereo image).
turn off input thru.
resample the main out for any pads that have more than 1 sample layers, then put the resampled sample alone on the pad, taking out any filters or envelopes.
delete any muted audio tracks in JJOS, they still take polyphony
