Been a while since I've posted. I Just have a quick question about this alchemist beat.

The bassline in "the red carpet" by evidence produced by alchemist is dope. It's not complex at all but i like the sound of it a lot. i have a tough time getting my bass to have the texture and presence in my sh** that alchemist gets on this track.

Any idea where I can get a patch like that bass? Everytime I try to tweak my microkorg to sound like this, the only bass I'm satisfied with is just a basic Sine Wave (which never fails but im looking for something a bit more textured).

2 examples of the bass im going for...

Is there a plug-in or vst in reason or pro tools that can easily get a bass sound like this? Im sick of settling for a Sine wav.

thanks for any help!

I was thinking maybe a motif rack. I watched one of those boon doc videos and he used a motif rack and got a similar sounding bass.

idk why but i really like that bass sound and i havnt had any luck at producing this sound with my microkorg. Im starting to think it isnt capable of it.

peterock always got them dope ass basslines, i wouldnt be surprised if he was just ripping bass samples, tweaking lopass, and playing over 16 levels.. even the alchemist beat sounds like a sample over 16 levels...

i remember seeing alchemist with a minimoog..he could have made that bass with his minimoog..probably sending the outputs to some kind of rack module to beef the sound up as well.

dude who sells those runs this site, ima be honest, i downloaded the demo and made a mean bass patch with the riffs from the demo.. if you know how to loop them right, and use your 16 levels, you can make basslines just like those 3 tracks we posted as examples..

First YouTube link sounds like a sawtooth + 1-octave-down square wave, low pass filtered; like I do with my Roland SH-09.

If you only have a sine wave for bass, then add some distortion to it to make it sound good and cut through.

For the bass in the Alchemist beat, check out the VSTi Minimonsta. I believe you can get those kind of bass sounds through some tweaking.

I have no idea where Pete Rock got the bass from in "Boston". All I know is that it's completely ridiculous. Probably one of the illest bass lines of all time.

All the tracks posted in here sound like the bass has come from a Moog.

Ya, haha that bass is ridiculous. Pete is the bassline king.
