program change

hi!

i am interessted in your workflow - in this case using program changes.
i know with this message people can change sample programs with one value in the table on the fly. midi is still the same, only the samples are different ones.

how many of you use this option?

I have... but only a couple of times. Take a drum kit program. Mess up the drum sounds in another copy of the program. Mess with the decay of the sounds in another program. Then change the program all over the place and I got some glitchy sounding drum tracks... it was fun but ended up being too much work.

Yeah I run synths so use em lots. That way project loads and synths are same as before.
Also as of OS 3 version of jjos I cannot get it to do pattern to pad to work like it did.
What I do is make blank bar with just PC and make that a pattern mapped to a pad so I can just change MPC or synth program's with a push of a pad. It records this when and works in record mode but not playing. Might be bug so have to report it I think
But yeah having MPC change program's with a pad hit is cool. Synths to but men take complex messages not just pc so is a string of stuff I set to a pattern to pad

anybody have a clue why this was in the early 2000 a "ideal way"in programming loops?
(if it needs time and akai os/ software dont do it right)

I use it in ableton when I perform live. I'll use program changes for my hardware synth

Maybe reread my post. I use em everyday.
