Having trouble understanding the sync between the mpc 1000 and the asr10 I want to use the mpc 1000 as a drum sequencer and the asr10 to cut samples on. I can't seem to get the clocks to match up. I'll admit that the midi thing is confusing. But I'm no stranger to midi just don't understand the set up with these two insturments. If someone can please inform me how step by step. As I've seen in a lot of post where people have asked this same question and didn't really get a clear answer. Help !!!

So basically you just want to chop samples on the ASR and trigger them from your mpc? In that case, why do you have to sync the machines? Just sequence with the MPC and trigger the samples from your ASR... job done?

Sync is mainly used when you want to synchronise the time/tempo of the sequencer in one piece of equipment, to the time/tempo of the sequencer in another piece of equipment, so that the two sequencers run at the same time and/or tempo.

Is that what you want, do you want to sequence the ASR10 sounds from the ASR10 sequencer and the MPC1000 sounds from the MPC1000 sequencer, or do you want to sequence the ASR10 sounds from the MPC1000 sequencer as well as the MPC1000 sounds?

If you want to sequence/trigger the ASR10 sounds from the MPC1000 sequencer, then you don't use the ASR10 sequencer, and you don't have to sync the ASR10 sequencer to the MPC1000 sequencer.

YES I WANNA SYNC THE TIME CLOCKS TOGETHER SO THAT WHEN I START ONE THE OTHER STARTS AS WELL BUT AT THE SAME PACE AND SEQUENCE. I ONLY NEED THE MPC FOR DRUMS AND SOME SAMPLES... BUT USE THE ASR10 FOR APPLYING BASS OR OTHER FILL IN TYPE INSTRUMENTS
