transferred my stems from the mpc to fl studio, for adding fx. i setup a submix channel on empty channel 24 and added a limiter, and sent all 4 of my kick drum channels to this submix channel on 24.

for some reason, when the limiter is turned on and have the settings set so that my kicks sound hard and thumpy like i want them, the limiter for some reason offsets the kicks by about 00:030...

They are supposed to be hitting right on top of my clhats, or at least no more than 00:005. But when the limiter is turned on, it offsets them dramatically and it makes the pattern sound off time (ie the kicks are hitting way later than my hats and they don't match up any more)

When I turn the limiter off on the submix channel, everything goes back to normal, in terms of kick-hat alignment.

These are the settings I have setup on the limiter...

Gain=+6
Lookahead=2.00ms (I turned to 0ms, and still have the problem)
Attack=0ms
Release=1200ms

I have no other FX added at all, no delay FX, no compression, etc. Just this submix channel with a limiter, only with my kick drum channels sent to it.

It's plugin latency. In Pro Tools there is now a feature called delay compensation that calculates the delay caused by plugins. You used to have to read your meters to see how much delay your plugin chain was causing on a channel, then add a compensation plugin to accomodate for it in order to keep everything in time. Google for fruity loops plugin latency, delay, etc. to see if there is a setting in fruity loops to fix your issue.

yep, you're right. i googled fruity loops plugin latency and i fixed it by clicking the down arrow button, on the top-left hand side of the FL studio mixer. Then, i hovered over the second option called "Plugin Delay Compensation", then clicked on "Automatic" and it works fine now.

Appreciate it brother!
