im thinking of gettin a bass guitar from my friend for 200 bones. it a fender :D . any tips on playing or recommendations on how to go about rigging it to my 1K.

go to an amp then out into the mpc, just get your levels clean and clear. alternativly you could sample clean notes. find a loop point and auto chrom in the mpc.. ohh the 1000 doesnt have that feature.

Fenders are great. It is possible to go direct into the mpc without a pre amp if the signal of your bass is loud enough. I do that sometimes with my Fender jazz bass.
If the signal is to low or to noisy get a DI box, they are not that expensive today, or use a bass compressor pedal.
I prefer to record my parts into a hd recorder first and sample the best pieces into the mpc.

get a d.i box cuz you really need it..i bought a bass guitar and the levels are fuct when i plug it into the mpc..other than that just cop that fender cuz it'll help make your beats sound better
