For the Asr users

I just copped an Asr and im curious, if I can hook a turntable directly into the Asr without any type of problems? If not then what's an alternative? Thanks ya'll.

I got an asr-10, and its on it's way.

yes you can... as with anything taking an input, watch the level

to get a good level u need to run it through a pre amp like a small dj mixer

does the asr x have the same sound as the 10?

from my experience I would say that they don't sound the same... the 10 is warmer and the X very clean... both are great machines in their own right

You will have to have a turntable preamp.

you need a preamp, unless you got a fancy newer TT that has line level out.

what they said. I run mine to a mixer that has all of my audio inputs in it so I can sample from anything running through that mixer

In all honesty, I'd really like to know what is so great about the ASR? I see Alchemist strictly uses it, Kanye uses one (latest issue of Scratch) and countless others too. Does it have remarkable sounds or something? Effects? What is it that makes this keyboard so popular??? I think I may have to cop one. I used to want one back in the days when it was selling like for a couple grand but didn't have the loot back then.
