I too started listening to those whispers of the difficulties learning instruments later in life (was laughed at when I decided to go back to school at 33 to obtain an electrical engineering degree,...Im now 1 & 1/2 years away from finishing)....This was def refreshing. Been close to selling my guitar, but now Im going to sign up for lessons. Nice video
Really happy to have inspired you. Gaining an Electrical degree at 33 is amazing!
I always sense there is the mentality that if you never learned an instrument before 21 you're ****. That's a load of BS. Yeah people have responsibilities like kids and jobs, but an old dog can always learn new tricks, but the hardest thing to do is to grow the balls to stick a middle finger up to society.
My mother could never afford for me to have lessons, but now we have the internet snd how easy it is for anyone to have access I have the opportunity to learn without the need for a teacher. Of course it can't replace teachers, but The internet is a godsend.
Money is probably why got into hip-hop. it was music made by people from the slum who honed their skills Improvising with what they had.
