"Mixed In Key" Software

Anybody using this program? I just heard about it yesterday and downloaded it today. You can drag a sample/song from whatever production software you use and drop it in the program and it tells you exactly what key it's in and what other keys would sound good with it.

I dabble with a few different instruments and I'm capable of figuring it out the old fashioned way but I'm loving this. Found it useful... thought I'd share.

yes, I've been using this program for over 3 years now, love it!! when I'm making random sample beats i just drag em in and it tells me the key I'm in then i can start toying with that scale very good tool!!

Very useful tool, and good value for the money! Been using it a while as well. Just gotta be a bit careful, it doesn't always get it exactly right. Still recommend it tho.

How is it practicality-wise? I ask cos I currently use Audacity to get the key of a sample and it is a bit of a long winded process. Doesn't help that I can't have the Maschine software and Audacity open simultaneously.

Why can't you have them open at the same time? Is it a soundcard issue?

MIK is very practical & dead simple. It's literally drag-and-drop, takes a few seconds, then spits out the key. You can customise it a bit too to change the file name and things like that. There really isn't a better tool IMO besides maybe Melodyne for determining key, and even that takes a while. But like I mentioned, MIK isn't always 100% accurate either.
